Aerial Work Platform

An aerial work platform (AWP), also known as an elevated work platform, is a mechanical device often used to provide temporary access to areas at height. When using AWPs such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, spider lifts etc. in the raised position, a spotter is required to be stationed at ground level to ensure the area below the lift is kept clear.

An AWP must be operated by licensed personnel who is equipped with the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and abides by safe working practices. Working at heights permit is not required for submission to the Centre when using AWP within the licenced area.

See Permit to Work for more information and respective permits required.
